The leader of Central-Phenix City’s 2018 state championship unit is now in search of a new college team.

Quarterback Peter Parrish is no longer part of the program at LSU and entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday morning, AL.com has learned.

The redshirt freshman and former four-star recruit had been suspended from the team in March and was taken off LSU’s online roster in July.

The 247Sports Composite rankings had Parrish rated as the third-best quarterback prospect from Alabama in the 2019 recruiting class, behind only Auburn’s Bo Nix and former Alabama and current Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa.

Parrish threw for 2,920 yards while also running for 1,320 yards during his final two high school seasons. As a senior, Parrish helped Central-Phenix City post its first undefeated season since 1944 and was named the MVP of the team’s state title game win over Thompson.
